Desert Spring United Methodist Church (DSUMC) has a Community Resource Center that provides a food pantry to meet the nutritional needs of the community. The church is involved in various programs to provide hot meals, stock pantries, and offer access to fresh fruits and vegetables. Mill Plain UMC is one of the 20 churches that financially support and volunteer for Babies in Need, an organization that ensures all babies born in Clark and Cowlitz Counties have essential clothing, bedding, and car seats. The Clark County Food Bank manages 8 million pounds of food annually, which is equivalent to 6.7 million meals for individuals and families in need.

On March 18th, Mill Plain United Methodist Church welcomed an elf and church members aged 4 and above to collect food for Friends in Service to Humanity (FISH) food bank in Orchards. Pastor David, the lead pastor of DSUMC, was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church in 1992 and has served churches in Camp Verde, Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada. The Methodist Church in Clark County is committed to providing assistance to those in need through its food pantry and outreach programs.
