Toiletries Drive

Is traveling in your future?
Do you pack your own shampoo and soap?
Do you know that the motels and hotels across American supply all those wonderful personal size toiletries for your convenience?
The Missions and Outreach Committee wants you!
Bring home all those unopened individual bottles of shampoo, bars of soap, hand lotion, hair spray, shaving cream (leave the towels, robes and glasses please). Bring them to church and they will be put to good use.
Emergency Aid of Boulder City and United Methodist Social Missions will provide them to the people in need of these items. Often, their circumstances are not conducive to carrying the larger sizes of personal toiletries.
Not traveling? Still wish to help out? Most grocery and drug stores have a travel section with small-size toiletries. Pick up some personal-sized containers of soap, shampoo, shaving cream, toothpaste, deodorant...anything that will enhance the lifestyle of those less fortunate.
If you have any question, please contact Diane Hernandez at 294-0802

The Communion Coin for August will be collected for United Methodist Social Ministries. The mission of United Methodist Social Ministries, Inc. (UMSM, Las Vegas) is to respond to poverty related issues, improving the lives of those in need. Their goals include providing comprehensive emergency services, including community resource information, to all individuals experiencing issues related to poverty; increasing the accessibility of program services; advocating for public policies that work towards the elimination of poverty and relief for its victims; educating the public regarding issues of poverty, including but not limited to: hunger, homelessness, and insufficient social services; and increasing community involvement and awareness with the agency and its work, including increasing name recognition and community partnerships.

A basket has been placed on the altar if you wish to donate the loose change in your purse or pocket to these special needs funds. New programs are designated each month.
